Stars have some key features in common

-The star is an image, not  real person that is constructed out of range of materials (magazines, TV, Films)

-Stars are commodities produced and consumed on the strength of their meanings

The star image is incoherent that is incomplete and 'open

Paradox 1 -

The star must be simultaneously ordinary and extraordinary for the consumer

Paradox 2-

The star must be simultaneously present and absent for the consumer.

The audiences always seem to try and complete the image which is achieved by continued consumption of star through his or her products

Are we creating a star or a singer/performer?
