One Page pitch.
Plot
The plot of my music video will follow a teenage girl as she
walks into a computer suite at her school to study on the computer. However, as
she tries to get her computer to work, the screen glitches and freezes a few
times. Knowingly getting frustrated with the computer, a computer-glitch ghost
appears on the screen and sings to the girl sitting at the computer. Various TV
clips will be shown in a glitchy manner as if somebody is surfing through
channels quickly. A lot of this will be shown in the reflection of the girl's
eyes.
Finally, the glitch appears to come out of the computer and
the girl, obviously terrified, tries to run away from the glitch monster,
sprinting from the computer room and down the school corridors as she glitch
proceeds to chase her.
She runs around the school grounds until she locks herself
in a storage cupboard. She stands by the door, exhausted. The glitch stands by
the door and sings the song to the door the girl is hidden behind.
It soon becomes apparent as the girl hides in the cupboard
that she is becoming a computer glitch herself and eventually accepts the fact
she has become the same as the glitch monster. She opens the door to the glitch
and they stand opposite each other.
The song includes a lot of instrumental parts that consist
of an electronic/dub step nature. These will feature the parts of the music
video where the glitch is chasing the girl. As this happens, i intend to use a
range of special effects to make the glitch monster seem more intimidating.
Appeal
My music video is targeted at a younger audience, typically
young adults and teenagers since the main character is also a teenager which
makes the music seem relate to the audience. I feel with technology becoming
more and more a part of everyday life, my music video creates a type of horror
situation that if we dig too deep into technology, we'll lose touch on being
ourselves. Because of this, it could appeal to people who enjoy the horror
genre and possibly technical fanatics.
Location.
The location of the music video will mostly take place on
school grounds. Particularly in a computer lab and then the corridors of the
school. It can be added that the school grounds outside might be a good idea to
film and also in a storage cupboard.
Characters
There are only two characters in the music video, that being
the school girl and the glitch.
